With the price of oil surpassing $100 per barrel, oil & gas companies have significantly increased drilling activity in remote areas throughout the U.S. However, accelerating drilling operations in remote areas has created the challenge of delivering large files of daily drilling information to home offices for analysis and management.
Now, the ERF Wireless Oil & Gas Services Division provides a variety of wireless broadband products and services to oil and gas companies and oilfield service companies that offer a combination of speed of deployment, mobility, increased bandwidth and very competitive pricing.
These products and services take full advantage of ERF Wireless owning and operating one of the largest wireless broadband networks in the U. S. that covers a large percentage of the oil and gas production regions in Texas, New Mexico and Louisiana. In addition, through itsacquisition of wireless networks and its strategic partnerships, ERF Wireless also has access to hundreds of communications towers in oil and gas production areas where the company does not have operational wireless networks. This makes expansion into these new areas fast and affordable. Finally, many of the wireless bank networks that support ERF Wireless’ BranchNet, US-BankNet and WiNet services are available to the company and cover significant oil and gas production areas.
High-Speed Wireless Bandwidth
Because tens of thousands of dollars are spent daily at drill sites throughout the country, every day that can eliminated by making real-time decisions translates into substantial savings for an operating company. ERF Wireless delivers near real-time data by providing high-speed Internet bandwidth from 1Mbps to 5Mbps to drilling sites, pump jacks, production facilities, separation plants, pipeline facilities and tank batteries. In addition, ERF Wireless’ high-speed bandwidth can enable a number of other beneficial applications, such as security cameras that protect both equipment and employees.
Mobile Bandwidth Trailer System
Since ERF Wireless already owns or has access to long-range delivery networks, all that’s needed to service the customer is a “last mile” delivery mechanism that’s agile, rugged and can move with the mobile nature of the drilling operation. Although the Oil & Gas Services Division currently has a number of products and services meeting this requirement, one of the most notable is its Mobile Bandwidth Trailer System (MBTS) that can be quickly deployed into any field environment.
Designed to enhance the speed of data delivery, the ERF Wireless MBTS increases security options and minimizes mobility issues for drilling rigs that are constantly moving to different sites on weekly schedules. By locking onto the wireless signal being broadcast by a distant ERF Wireless communications tower, this unique system provides wireless broadband connectivity to support a variety of oil and gas field operations, including the actual drilling operation. Most importantly, the same day a drilling operation moves to a new location, so does the MBTS.
Auxiliary Services
In addition to wireless broadband Internet, ERF Wireless also provides:
• Tower Construction
• Wireless Network Design
• Surveillance Camera Installation
• Emergency Network Maintenance on all types of radios

• Tower Climbers
Staffed with experienced wireless professionals who have knowledge of the oil & gas industry, as well as related technologies, the Oil & Gas Services Division can deploy highly-skilled wireless support teams anywhere in the world. |
